Yvette Opadijo Obituary

Prophetess Yvette Marie Jefferson went home to Jesus on September 12, 2022, at age 55.  She was born to Dranell Jefferson on August 19, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois. She moved to Easton, Maryland when she was 14 with her aunt, Doris Brooks.  She gave her life to Christ at the young age of 16. As a child, Prophetess Yvette attended Easton High School where she excelled in school as an Honor Roll student.  She was a class president, a cheerleader, and played the clarinet with the school band. Prophetess also sang in her church choir keeping God close at a very young age.  She attended Chesapeake College for accounting and business and continued her education at Community College of Baltimore County. After college she worked at Five-by-Five Communications following her career path. In 2014, she worked for Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development were worked until the end of her days.

On October 20, 1986, Prophetess Yvette gave birth to her son, Albert Darrell Finch who is her pride and joy. Her loved didn’t stop there.  Although she only had one son, Prophetess had a hand in raising many. Prophetess Yvette first she took temporary custody of her niece, Vateasa Everett.  Shortly after she took in her younger cousins, Maurice Eugene Brooks, and Quinton Brooks. She also took care of the niece and nephew, Miesha Ann Slaughter and Drayquan Abdul Slaughter whom she cared for until they became of age. After that Prophetess Yvette’s home became a haven for so many family members and friends.

  Prophetess Yvette joins her mother, Dranell Jefferson, her aunt, Catherine Jefferson, and her great nephew, Da’Shaun Lamont Paul, in Heaven. She is survived by her son, Albert Darrell Finch, and her grandchildren, Ji’Aire Darrell Finch, Albert Darrell Finch Jr, and Allison Dior Finch, her brother Aaron Lamont Jefferson, his daughter Vateasa Everett, her children Destiny Amijah Everett and Faith Zion-Marie Everett. Prophetess Yvette is also survived by her aunt the Matriarch of the family, Doris Brooks, 7 first cousins, and a host of second cousins.

Prophetess Yvette enjoyed interceding on multiple prayer lines including, The Sapphires of Chicago.  Her life’s work was to minister the gospel and spending time in the word of God.  Her church families included Mt. Pisgah, Greater Mt Zion, International House of Worship, and many more. She also enjoyed working out, spending quality time with her family, and Community Service.  Prophetess Yvette took pride in freelance modeling for designers such as Sister Israel, Uche, Norman Cole, and Latoya Brat to name a few.  Out of all the things Prophetess enjoyed, she enjoyed spreading the love of God the most. 

Prophetess Yvette Jefferson was a model citizen and a beacon of hope. She was a sweetheart, being kind to everyone she met.  To know her was to know God because his light shined so bright through her.  Rather you knew her by Prophetess Yvette, Ms. Yvette, or Auntie what remained the same was the love and truth that she imparted into everyone whole had the honor of meeting her acquaintance.  Her beauty and grace will forever be missed, and her words of prayer, encouragement, and wisdom will forever live in our hearts.
