Willie Blue Obituary

Willie J. Blue, also known as Tip was born in Dunn, North Carolina on December 27, 1938, son of the late Julius and Bertha Blue. He was one of fifteen children. He departed this life on September 30, 2025 at the Compass Hospice in Centreville, MD. He was 86 years old.

Tip received his formal education in the Harnett County School System. As a child Tip enjoyed spending time with his siblings, his brothers, Amis Blue, Charles Blue, Raymond Blue, J.D Blue, Mack Blue, Roddell Blue; and sisters, Sissy Blue, Retha Mae Blue, Dorothy Elliot, Mary Jane Blue, Nettabell Mudesy, Rosa Williams, Cora Mae Blue, and Vernelle Bailey.

Willie worked at Amick Farms in Hurlock, MD for 3 years and went on to work at Townsend in Millsboro, DE where he retired after 25 years. He was a hard-working man who took pride in his work and would often receive special recognition and plaques for perfect attendance.

Willie was a member at No More Walls Church of God in Williamsburg, MD until its closing. He later found comfort in receiving prayer and pastoring from Pastor Phyllis Duckery of Jericho Faith Deliverance Church in Ridgley, MD. Willie loved to barbecue, big cars, spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed reading the Bible, raising money for church functions, and watching wrestling.

Willie was a God-fearing man who loved the Lord. He was a pleasure to be around and a beacon of light to all of those he encountered. He would share the word of the Lord with everyone spreading kindness, truth and love.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, seven sisters, one son-in-law, one step daughter and one step granddaughter.

Willie is survived by his wife of 40 years Mary Alice Blue of Federalsburg, MD; two children, Lisa Ellis and Wayne Blue of Dunn, NC; three step-children, James Bolden of Federalsburg, MD, Kevin Bolden of Cambridge, MD, and Terrance Bolden of Preston, MD, brother, Charles Blue of Dunn, NC, sister, Mary Jane Collier of South Carolina, seven grandchildren; Danielle Williams (Travis), Samantha Blue, Michael Blue, Tyrone Ellis, Dustin Ellis, Keyonna Blue, Kendrick Blue, all of Dunn, NC, six step-grandchildren; Lamont Washington (Denise) of Denton, MD, Shanae of Delaware, Kenyotta Luke of Georgia, Darcy Nichols Jr. of Churchville, MD, Darsheka Nichols of Federalsburg, MD, Jazmere Bolden of Federalsburg, MD, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
