William Russell Leatherberry, Sr.

William “Bill” Russell Leatherberry, Sr., 88, from Easton, Maryland, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at University of Maryland. William was born on May 3, 1937, in Easton, Maryland to the late Russell and Mary Francis Leatherberry. 

William was educated in the Talbot County school system, where he graduated in 1955. He worked at Esso gas station in Easton until he got a job with the police department in Easton. He retired in 1999 after 32 years. After retirement, he had a part-time job with the Talbot County in Easton. 

William enjoyed being with family and friends at barbecues.

William was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gladys and Doretha; and brothers, Melvin and Howard. One brother in law (Herald)(deceased)

He leaves to mourn: a wife of 65 years, Ida Mae Leatherberry; sibling, Clifford Leatherberry (Katrina); four children, William Jr. (Keona), Maxine Jenkins, Ida Wells (Dean), all of Easton, and Fenolla Wilson, Bridgeville, DE.; seven grandchildren, Keyshaun Leatherberry, Tanquir McMillan, Demetri, Takeya, Dean Jr. (Heather), Dontae (Azuree), and Olympia; great-grands, Nakia, Brianna, Daria, Tarez, Dre’Quon, Jordan, Idris, Debreon and Daylen; five great-great-grands, Dondre, D’Mari, Kylin, Asaan, and Rhylin; and special friends, Walter Chase and Noah Camper (deceased). One sister in law Blanche Walker of Easton, MD and a host of nieces and nephews cousins and friends.
