Virginia Baker Obituary

When It All Started

Mrs. Virginia “Jenny” Baker began life’s journey on April 19, 1948 in Federalsburg, MD to the late Jerry & Mary Jones.

When It Blossomed

Jenny was educated in Caroline County schools and graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in 1969. After high school, she attended college and pursued a brief career in Education. She later joined the Allen Family Food Company, where she served as a faithful Team Lead for 31 years until retirement.

Jenny, a dedicated wife, loving mother and sister, and loyal friend, had many talents, but everyone recognized her keen passion for decorating. Her home décor had a unique way of giving everyone who visited a warm welcome and lasting impression. Jenny believed that music was the one thing that united people regardless of their background, so she always played music in her home and would often play tunes from one of her favorite artists, Charlie Wilson. During the Christmas season, she spread JOY throughout the neighborhood by festively decorating her white Christmas tree, which was truly a site to see. Jenny not only believed in uniting people and spreading joy, but she cherished spending quality time with her loved ones. Whether she was keeping her siblings’ company at the casino or preparing her famous potato salad for the family barbeques, she was the happiest in the presence of those she loved.

On December 14, 2021, Jenny completed her life’s mission here on earth and answered God’s call peacefully at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton, MD. Jenny’s sudden and unexpected transition was heartbreaking to all that loved her.

Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Allan & Miah “Raynell” Jones; and sister, Valerie Jones.
