Violet Oleta Groce

Violet Oleta Groce was born on Februay 1, 1932.

She departed this life on March 29, 2023 at the University of Maryland Hospital, in Easton, MD. She was 91 years old.

     "Bobbie" or Mom Bobbie as she was well known, was the daughter of the late Harry Groce and the late Pearl Groce (Bailey). Violet was born in Caroline County where she received her education.

     Violet was a dedicated member of the Full Gospel Church of God  in Hurlock, MD under the leadership of Bishop Charles Cephas Sr.

Violet was an usher for many many years. She loved the Lord, cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family. She had weekly Sunday dinners for her grandchildren and anyone who stopped by to visit.

     Violet drove to nearby shopping centers and around the town of Denton until 2022 when she decided that she was tired of driving and parked her car.  

     Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her one and only child, Rita Jenkins, four sisters; Ruth, Lillian, Mrytle and MaryJane, three brothers; Jake, Roe and Jessie Groce.

     Violet leaves to mourn her baby brother, Roger A. Groce (Aleta), of Greensboro, MD, granddaughter, Terry Flamer-Cephas (Andrew) and grandson, Robbie Flamer of Denton, MD, great-grandchildren; Carlisha Roberts, Shatira Flamer of Denton, MD, Robin Flamer of Easton, MD, Keayra Green, Kyreshia Flamer, Joy Flamer and Robbie Flamer III of Denton, MD, twenty-four great-great grandchildren and a special great-great-granddaughter, Kamyirah Roberts of Denton, MD. Violet also got to meet and love on her first and only great-great-great grandbaby, Iyla Thompson, she also leave to cherish fond memories, special friends, Darlene, Ethel and Pixie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
