Vanessa Marie Wilson, affectionately known as "Van", was called to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton, MD. She was 71.
Vanessa was born in Easton, MD on August 26, 1953 to the late Robert Lee Greene and the late Lillian Elizabeth Wilson.
Vanessa was educated in the Talbot County Public School system. Throughout her life, she worked at various places for long periods of time. Vanessa was employed at Celeste Industries for 30 years. During and after her employment at Celeste, she also worked for William Hill Manor now known as Acts Bayleigh Chase for 20 plus years. Vanessa had also been employed at Mallard Bay Nursing Home in Cambridge, MD. Vanessa finally retired only to go back to work at Bayleigh Chase until her health began to fail. She was determined to get better so she could go back to work. One of her passions was caring for the elderly or whomever she felt she could help in any way. Anyone who knew Vanessa, knew that her other passions were playing bingo and riding to the casino. She loved spending time with her family and her bingo buddies who were like family to her.
Vanessa was a member of the American Legion Post # 77 in Easton, MD.
Vanessa loved spending time with her only two grandchildren that affectionately called her "Mom Mom Nessa".
Vanessa was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael D. Young, two sisters, Stella D. Bivens and Terri Ann Wilson, five brothers, Walter Brown, Ronald C. Wilson, Samuel E. Wilson, Anthony T. Wilson, and Keith Wilson.
Vanessa leaves to cherish loving memories, her loving daughter, Danita R. Jackson (Leroy), brother, Raymond I. Wilson (Jeannie), sister, Lenda Gibson-Smith (Linwood) two grandchildren, Ka'Leigh X. Opher and Loryé R. Jackson, godsons, Antonio Roberts and Deondrae Stull and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Vanessa's special friends were Charlotte Fells, Irona Samuels, Ms. Lilly Green, Shirley Ellis, Ms. Vonnie, Ms. Liz, Marva Camper, Ms. Paula, and Joyce Jackson.
