Tyrell Washington Obituary

Tyrell Maurice Washington, Sr., was born on November 12, 1983, at Dorchester General Hospital to his beloved parents, Cheryl Denise Washington and William Joesph Jenkins, Jr. Through life’s ups and downs Rell’s mom and his dad “Black” were his diamonds in the rough. Tyrell attended several schools in the Caroline, Dorchester, Sussex, and Wicomico County public school systems. Later in his adulthood Tyrell made lemonade out of lemons and obtained his G.E.D. Rell took several business classes that would help him navigate life as an entrepreneur. Tyrell’s Grandmother Doretha took him to church, and he chose to be baptized in the name of Jesus at Mission Hill Apostolic Church, in Hurlock, Maryland. Rell loved the Lord and developed a personal relationship with the Lord. He would often send inspirational videos and songs to family and friends. He could get locked into a deep conversation just talking about how GOOD God is, for hours at a time. Navigating the streets with a low-profile and love in his heart made Rell a man amongst men. Tyrell was known for having nice things and especially nice cars! One would say, Rell would buy a car just to clean it! ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINKS in Rell’s Ride! He took a lot of pride in things he worked hard for. What put a smile on his face was making others feel special. Tyrell had a way of making everyone feel like they were his number one! Spoiling his nieces, Ka’Veah and Ka’Layah, nephew, Ky’Air, and any other child he would encounter was his thing. Tyrell was a proud father. His life changed forever when his BFF Tierra Pinkett birthed the joy, love, and heartbeat of his life when she gave birth to his son. Protecting his peace and his legacy he would find himself at home with his only son (Lil Rell), playing PlayStation and door dashing a good burger and just “chilling”. Tyrell would say, “I could never spoil my son, I can only just love him a lot… You feel me...” Tyrell was celebrated by his family and friends in November 2024, for graduating and speaking at Wicomico County Adult Drug Treatment Court. It was said that what he accomplished would be impossible. The odds were in fact against him, but with grit he beat the odds and walked the stage. The love Tyrell gave, and the treasured memories will be forever remembered by his mother, Cheryl, and father, William. He will truly be missed by his one and only handsome intelligent son, Tyrell Maurice Washington, Jr. He also leaves to mourn: his paternal grandpop, William Joesph Jenkins of Preston, MD; only baby sister whom he loved to father, and his name’s sake, Tiffany Cherelle Washington of Hurlock, MD; paternal aunts, Mary Holland of Trappe, MD, Yvonne Jenkins of Hurlock, MD, and Yalanda Jenkins of Preston, MD; maternal aunts, Elizabeth Washington of East New Market, MD, Gwendolyn Washington of Federalsburg, MD, and Yvonne McHolder of Seaford, DE; paternal uncle, Carey (GOAT) Jenkins of Sharptown, MD; and maternal uncle, Henry Washington of Cambridge, MD. Tyrell’s aunts and uncles are special jewels that he cherished so much, all of them held a special place in his heart that will be felt beyond this life. His bond with his aunt Cabby was rare and all knew when he called, she was there. Tyrell was not only blessed with his blood family where his cousins were his brothers and sisters, Rell made everyone feel like family who vibed with him. He also leaves to mourn: Cynthia Lake and YoVanda Brown, and stepsiblings, Nikki, Keirra, and Trevon. Tyrell was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Doretha Mae Jenkins and Joyce Delma Washington; grandfather, John Henry Carr; uncle, Thomas Washington; and cousins, Darrell Jackson and Ava Jenkins. Forever in our hearts, love that bonds us together, a love will never be forgotten. —The Family of Tyrell Maurice Washington, Sr
