Typhany Shandell Batson was born on March 20, 1972, in Seaford, DE, to Marjorie (Margie) Henry and Dorsey Evans.
She attended school in the Seaford School District and graduated from James H. Groves school in 1995.
Typhany began her employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Harrison House in Georgetown, DE and dedicated her time for 28 years. She truly loved all of her patients and went above and beyond giving them the best care ever. In 2006, she along with her brother Victor, opened a trucking business named T&V (Typhany and Victor), where Vic drove the truck and she handled all of the administrative duties.
Typhany attended Pilgrims Ministry in Georgetown, DE, for some time. She then became a member of Citadel of Hope Church in Seaford, De, where she served on the Pastor’s Aide Committee and leader of the praise dance team where she and her daughters would express their love to God through dance. She then became of member of Kingdom Empowerment Christian Church in Seaford, DE, where she was a disciple on the audio/video team.
She was the proud mother of three beautiful daughters, Donja Batson, Marjaliet Batson and Charlyssia Batson, and grandmother to six grandchildren. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with her girls and grandchildren and would shower them with all the love, support and advise a mother could give.
In Typhany’s early years, she was a no non-sense and “take no mess” type of person. The kids in the neighbor knew not to mess with her or any of her friends and family. Typhany took after her mom, Margie, and became a great cook and loved to have family dinners and gatherings and would often get mad when she didn’t win family cook offs. Her favorite sports team was the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Cowboys. She would go back and forth with her brother-n-law and others when the LA Lakers would play or when the Philadelphia Eagles would play. She bled “green” for the Celtics hence the reason “green” is her favorite color.
Typhany was proceeded in death by her father, Dorsey Evans, grandparents, Emma and Floyd Henry, Mary Jane Brummell, Irene and Emerson Evans, aunts, Phyliss Perkins, Barbara Jackson, and uncle, Floyd Henry, Jr. and her best friend, Latrena Sheppard.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Margie Stewart, of Seaford, DE, daughters, Donja L. Batson, Marjaliet Batson, of Milford, DE, and Charlyssia Batson (Ray) of Laurel, DE, brothers, Victor Batson of Seaford, DE, Shane Batson of Milford, DE, and Dorsey Richardson of Federalsburg, MD, sisters, Kimberly Purnell (Lamar) of Seaford, DE, and Dorsetta Bell (Joe), of Federalsburg, MD, aunts, Catherine Heyward of Seaford, DE, Alice Brummell of Felton, DE, and Marilyn (Nelson) Burbage of Seaford, DE, uncles, Jack Henry of Seaford, DE and Michael Brummel of Bridgeville, DE, grandchildren, Elijiah Dobson, Amariona Batson, Jasiya Batson, Shaun Horsey Jr., Karter Malone and Malea Turner, nieces, Michiala Batson, A’shay Purnell, Raven Hammond, Hope Hammond, Catarria Bolden, nephews, Melvin Cannon III, Bryan Batson, Yancy Peterson, Antwine Jones, Carey Bolden Jr., Jamar Bolden, Rondell Bolden, Godchildren, Karr Hayes and Zyaire Jones, and, her second Moms, Rose Sheppard and Bonnie Stanley, close friends, Sharonda Jones, Johnice Williams, best Friend of over 30 years, April Fillyau, as well as a host of other family, cousins and friends.
