Obituary

Ty Anthony Brooks was born in Easton, Maryland on October 18, 1967.  He departed this life on August 7, 2023, at the age of 55.  He was born to Carolyn V. Brooks of Easton and the late Noah Camper.  Ty was a very intelligent individual and full of knowledge.  Ty attended Talbot County Public Schools but later obtained his GED along with a vast knowledge of life itself.  At an early age he worked alongside his brother and cousins in their grandfather’s landscaping business. Prior to his death, his entrepreneurial spirit drove him to venture into the world of photography with the love of his life, Kay, which he truly enjoyed.

As a youth, Ty attended Bethel AME Church in Easton, MD and was well versed with the knowledge of the Bible and many religions.  Ty had a personal relationship with God, and would speak the word to family, friends and everyone who crossed his path.  He was full of wisdom and knowledge, which gained the admiration of many. He loved everyone, was an inspiration to the youth and had a desire to bring out the best in everyone.

Ty was family oriented, a protector and dedicated to his family.  He was always the life of the party, was never a stranger and was well known wherever he went.  Ty was very serious about his attire, jewelry, appearance and was always very neat and organized.  He was also known as “Fly Ty” to many.

Ty was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Ruth Brooks who helped raise him, he had a tremendous amount of love and respect for them both.  His father, Noah Camper Jr., paternal grandparents, Noah and Mary Camper, aunt, Sylvia Brooks, nephew, Kori Brooks, special uncle, William Camper and special great uncle, Albert Brooks, special great aunts, Roberta Brooks, Dorothy “Winks” Brooks, Marie “Sissy” Boulden, and Pauline Jeffries.

Ty is survived by his mother Carolyn V. Brooks, children; Tyniqua Fooks (Robert) and Aaron Brooks (Mariah), granddaughter, Gianna Fooks, a special uncle, Richard Brooks Sr. (Carolyn), who helped raised him, someone whom he truly loved, Kamara “Kay” Smothers, as well as stepson, Davion Young, Deneen “Vickie” Smothers, (who was like a mother to him), sisters, Javana Bowser (Kirk) and Tori Brooks, brother, Rickie Atkins (Semond), special cousins, who were raised together as siblings, Tywanda Griffin (Jeffrey), Richard Brooks Jr., Flora Sampson and Tyrone Sampson, god sister, Portia Phillips, aunts, Faridah “Pinky” Muhammad (Abdulalim) and Dorothy Camper, uncles, Michael Brummell, James Camper (Barbara) and Lawrence Brummell, nieces and nephews; Kysheia Anderson, William Thomas, Jr. (Brittany), Jhyana Brummell, Kierston Atkins, Rickie Atkins Jr., Rynell Brooks, Anthony Potter, Kirtreese Bowser, Kirshay Bowser, great nieces and nephews; Tsiah Rich, Tavari Green, Tyron Anderson, Iyshaia Mack, Kylaiah Jones, William Cintron-Thomas, Avayah Cintron-Thomas, Braylin Cintron, and Lamar Nellums, the mother of his children, Sorana Nyack, cousins; Carla Brooks, Jerome “JT” Taylor, Anna “Joy” Taylor, Dwayne Brooks, Dr. Earl M. Brooks, Sharon Palmer, Melissa Lewis, Marcus Lovett, Jeff Harris, Tyree Gregory and Antoine Gregory and host of many other cousins, family and friends whom he loved.
