Traviar Demonte Davis, Sr., known as “Tra,” was born to Ethel Thompson and the late William Hawkins, Sr., on August 27, 1976, in Easton, Maryland. He was called home to eternal rest and peace at the age of 46 on January 21, 2023, in Easton, Maryland.
Tra was raised in St. Michaels, Maryland, and began his education there. They later moved to Preston, Maryland, and he finished his education at Colonel Richardson High School. He was a loving son, brother, special uncle, dad, ultimate granddad, and friend to many. He truly loved his family and held a special place in all their hearts.
Tra attended Preston Circuit Coppin A.M.E. Church in Preston, Maryland, and gave his life to Christ. He most recently attended Eternal Life Ministeries in Denton, Maryland. He held various jobs throughout his life. His final employment was with Bigg Tyme Trash in Harmony, Maryland. He was made to feel a part of a team and worked well together with others.
Tra’s hobbies included music, road trips, basketball, shoes, shopping, and looking good. The looking good, he did that well:)
Tra leaves to cherish his memories: his fiancée, Jennifer Wheedleton of Denton, MD; siblings, William Davis of Cambridge, MD, Dotty Kellum (Ricky) of Easton, MD, and George Davis (Kisha) of Plano, TX; children, Traviar Davis (Essence) of VA and Tra’Nia Davis (Tadrian Ennals) of Cambridge, MD; grandson, Trenton Ennals; aunts and uncles, Sonja Watts-Means, Jacqueline Dickens, Valerie Roundtree, Emerson Watts, Jr., and Ezell Watts; and a whole host of special nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was expecting a very special granddaughter, Tamiree, in June of 2023.
Tra was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bertha Watts; brothers, Frank Davis, Jr., and William Hawkins, Jr.; sisters, Laura Bridges, Janice Davis, and Tammy Davis; and aunt, Sharon Roberts.
