Thomas Wilson Bailey, 67, lost his battle with cancer on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Talbot Hospice House in Easton, MD.

Thomas was born on July 11, 1958, to the late Agnes Marie Bailey and the late Johnnie Percy Bailey. He was a longtime resident of Mulberry Estates in Easton, Maryland, where many fellow residents affectionately referred to him as “The Mayor.”

Thomas grew up in St. Michaels, Maryland, and graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1977. He later joined the United States Army, serving from April 1979 to April 1983 as a Track Vehicle Repairer. During his military service, he earned the Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Expert Rifle Award.

Following his military service, Thomas worked for many years with the Talbot County Board of Education, Black & Decker, and as a cook at various restaurants.

Thomas enjoyed talking politics and had a deep love for sports, especially watching and discussing games with family and friends. His warm personality and gift for conversation made him unforgettable to those who knew him.

On July 11, 1987, he married the late Mona Johnson. During their marriage, they adopted three children: Kimberly, Steven, and Tevin.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his son, Steven, and two brothers, John W. Wilson and Edwin L. Bailey.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Kimberly; his son, Tevin; and his devoted stepdaughter, Michelle Boulden-Hammond (Elvis). He is also survived by his two brothers, Joseph W. Wilson (Betty) and Anthony P. Bailey; his sister, Pamela Bailey-Graham; five grandchildren; four nieces; one aunt; and a host of cousins and friends.
