Tessie Wilson Obituary

Tessie Lorena Wilson was born to the late Rosanna Hayman and the late Hugh Wilson on November 15, 1955. Tessie went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 10, 2022.

Tessie graduated from Easton High School on June 8, 1973. During her time in high school Tessie was a cheerleader. After graduation from high school Tessie attended UMES to major in Elementary Education. During her time at UMES she was crowned Miss Elementary.

Tessie was an extremely hard worker!! She worked at McDonald's as an Assistant Manager for over 30 years. Tessie enjoyed working at McDonald's. During her time at McDonald's she met many people who later became her good friends …. Lauranne Hynson, Osha Handy, Charlene Smith, Margaret Warren, Oliver Jackson, Marcell Pritchett, Helen Kennedy, Stacy Cooper, Patricia Finney and Ronnie Finney. Tessie was also employed with Sodexo working in the school cafeteria at St. Michael's Elementary School. Tessie was also employed with at WAWA in Easton.

Tessie was a sweet, quiet and gentle person who had a beautiful smile. Tessie loved to shop and had an extensive collection of clothes, shoes and purses. Tessie had a great sense of fashion and coordination and was always dressed so nicely. Tessie enjoyed spending time with family which gave her great joy.

Tessie gave her life to Christ during her time at TriLife Christian Center under the leadership of Pastors Anthony and Deborah Short. She was a faithful member of TriLife and served on the hospitality committee up until her illness. She attended weekly bible study at the nursing home and Sunday church services where Pastors Tony and Debbi preached 2 Sundays a month.

Tessie was the mother of two sons, DeQuan (deceased), Matiste and a bonus son Nevin Potter whom she shared with Roger,

Tessie leaves her precious memories with her son Matiste Wilson. Brothers Hugh Wilson and Jeffrey Hayman (Patricia). Sisters Dianne Potter, Yolanda Hayman and Joyce Hayman Aimey who was raised like a sister with Tessie growing up. Aunts Hester Wilson and Edith Hayman. Uncle James Wilson, nieces Dawn, Tamara, Javonna, Erica, Kierra, Kabrea, Keana, Brittany, Tyesha, Tajhai, Myia, Avani,Raelin, Aubri and Kadence. Nephews AJ, Aaron, Jabarr and Amari, Godson Ryan Stanford, a close cousin Krystal Wilson and bonus grandchildren Nevisha Potter, Derek Miles-Potter, Taylor Potter, Nasir Pulley, Geni Roberts, Keshawn Potter, Tsiah Rich, Jamaree Roberts. Extended Potter family and their families who loved Tessie dearly and Tessie thought of as her own brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews – Valerie (deceased) daughter Tina, Lynne (Kevin) son Brandon, Seth (deceased) sons Monte, Seth Jr., Jamal and daughter Tia. Rowena son Wayne (deceased) daughter Shawanda. Hilbert (Andrea) daughter Amanda, Herbert daughter Tiffany, Sonya (Felix) son Ronnie and daughter Roshonda, Yolanda sons Steve, Carlos Jr., daughters Robin and Angelita. Close friends and classmates Laverne Moaney; Brenda Jenkins; Janet Brown; Rosita Thompson; Elaine Little and Ella Mae Mills.

Her TriLife Christian Center family, numerous cousins and friends. A close friend William Freeman.  Albert Thomas; Jermel Bailey;DaWayne Camper and Jason Woolford who were DeQuan's close friends and who Tessie thought of as her own sons.

Tessie was proceeded in death by her son DeQuan, her parents Rosanna Hayman and Hugh Wilson, Roger Potter and Nevin Potter.
