Terri V. Sorrell, age 62, was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and passed away on January 3, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her sunset came peacefully while in care at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton, Maryland.
Terri attended the Queen Anne’s County Public School System, where she graduated in 1981. She devoted her entire adult life to caring for others through her work in the medical field. Over 20 years, she was employed at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Retina and Associates, and Children’s National Medical Center, where she was known for her compassion, dedication, and strong work ethic.
Terri was a woman of strong faith and a faithful member of Faith Tabernacle, where she served diligently. She will always be remembered for her willingness to meet people where they were, for giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, and for her kind spirit that allowed her to work with others and provide guidance through godly principles.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Terri’s life was deeply rooted in her love for family. She was unwaveringly supportive of her children and grandchildren and could always be found cheering them on at their many events, including sports, concerts, recitals, cheer competitions, and other activities. She found great joy in spending time at the beach and being surrounded by family and friends—especially her beloved grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.
Terri is survived by her sons, Rondell Sorrell (Leslie) and Ta’Von Sorrell; her cherished grandchildren, Mariah Sorrell, RJ Sorrell, Aris Sorrell, and Serenity McDowell; and her loving siblings: Richard Yarbough (Dez), Linda Foreman (Tracey), Richard Sorrell (Debbie), Bridgette Adb’Elaziz, Judy Sorrell, Gary Sorrell (Valerie), Montrell Sorrell (Kee), and David Sorrell.
She also leaves to cherish her memory her godchildren: Dontez Tingle, Jay Pindell, Tranesha Simms, Sambia Bordley, Tyrus Lee-Roy, Jordan Walker, and Robert Griffin-Walker III; her aunts, Dorothy Keene and Elaine Warrick; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Richard Sorrell and Mrs. Roberta L. Roberts, and her siblings, Deborah Johnson and Terry Johnson.
