Tennyson Turner Obituary

Tennyson Harrison Turner, “Tenny,” passed on Tuesday March 12, 2024 at University of Maryland Eastern Shore Center at Cambridge in the Emergency Department. He was born December 23,1945 to his parents, the late Fowler Bantum and Rosie Lenora Bantum (Turner).  He was 78 years of age.

At the time of his passing Tenny spent his days living in a nursing home in Dorchester County, however, Tenny resided in Easton, Md. He completed his education at Talbot County Public Schools in Easton, Md.

Tenny enjoyed playing basketball for Moton High School. Later he met his wife, Diana Turner (Copper). Together the two happily produced three children; Yolanda Copper, Dondrey Copper, and Taneika Turner.

Tenny leaves behind three his three children, two sisters, Evelyn “Doretha” Gibson and Joan Turner, eight grandchildren; Dre’Keem Copper, De’Asia Copper, Dior Copper, Jy’Shawn Copper, Aamad Turner, Jy’Shiya Copper, Aamiracle Turner-Butler, and Aamir Turner, his 101 year old uncle, Douglas Gibson, sister-in-law, Gladys Turner, along with a generous amount of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tenny is preceded to his final resting place by both parents Fowler and Rosie Bantum, siblings; Wendy Turner, Delmar Copper, Bertha Frieson, Wardell Turner, Wayman Turner, William Turner and James "Jim" Green.

Tenny made his career working in the Environmental Health Services Located at Easton Memorial Hospital. He spent many years being an excellent worker working with a smile on his face and placing a smile on many other people faces. Tenny jokes and smiles could light up a room.

Most of the time you can spot Tenny riding his bike around town waving, speaking to others along his way. If you knew any of the good fishing spots you definitely would spot Tenny because he love to go fishing with others or alone. It’s too no surprise that fresh fried fish is one his favorite meals. Cooking was also another special talent of his, don’t be surprised Tenny did a little baking too.

Throughout the years Tenny got to bond with the fellas and always had a great time. Those great friends include Eric Gibson, Larry Potter Sr, Alvin Copper, Lester (Barbara) Wilson, Sammie Gale, Charles Gale Sr, and Gregory Gibson Sr.
