Sterling “Skeet” Mouring born in Brunswick, VA on January 25, 1951. He was born to the late James Rossevelt Mouring and Addie Jane Myrick Mouring.
Sterling, affectionately known as Star, took his rest on March 28, 2022 peacefully at his home in Federalsburg, MD.
Sterling attended the public schools of Dorchester County in Maryland. He had a few jobs during his lifetime. He was employed at Coldwater in Cambridge, MD for many years. He also worked on the railroad, at Harrison Paving Co., and at Koski’s in Williamsburg, MD.
Sterling enjoyed fishing playing spades, eating wild food like marshrats, coon, rabbit and deer. His favorite gospel song was A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke.
Sterling was a warm hearted and caring soul. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. You would often find him visiting the sick and offering words of encouragement to those that he felt needed it. He had a love for cars and also would make it known that he was the expert, so he would tell you how to drive. He loved bossing people around! He had a way with words and would make you laugh. He also loved speaking in parables.
Sterling last attended Miracle of Faith Church in Federalsburg, MD under the leadership of his sister, Pastor Bernanette Mouring Ejide.
In addition to his parents, Sterling was preceded in death by his brothers; John Mouring, Ronald Mouring and James Mouring, sister, Ann Henry, and nephew, Donnie Copper.
Sterling leaves to mourn his daughter, Tyvonia Moore (Linford) of Ayden, NC, his son, Sterling Perkins of Cambridge, MD, siblings; Fred Mouring, Mary Rose Mouring, Shirlene Mouring, all of Cambridge, MD, Arlene Aldridge of Hurlock, MD, Bernadine Harris of Federalsburg, MD, Stanley Mouring (Dionne) of Federalsburg, MD, Lee Lawrence Mouring (Ann) of Williamsburg, MD, Albert Mouring (Shanelle) of Preston, MD and Bernanette Mouring Ejide (Bishop Ejide) of Federalsburg, MD, special nephew, Floyd Peterson of Preston, MD, Mervin Henry of Hurlock, MD, special niece, Annette Cephas and Orlette Henry of Norfolk, VA, Angel Franklin of Haines City, FL, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a lifetime friend who was like a brother, Tom Newcomb (Liz) of Seaford, DE and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
