Sharon Murray Obituary

Sharon M. Murray peacefully went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2026 surrounded by her family at the Bay Habor Post Acute located in Salisbury, MD. Sharon was born the daughter of the late Anna P. Thomas and Author B. Stanford on July 20, 1942. She was educated in the Caroline County School System. Sharon was employed for many years at chicken plant. She was a devoted daycare and neighborhood Mother for many years. She ran a successful catering business that was well known from Delaware to Virginia for over fifty years. She made sure she passed it down to her children and grandchildren. The one thing she loved the most was taking care of her grand and great children in her later years.

Sharon Murray was joined in matrimony for sixty-five years to her beloved husband, Elder Herbert M. Murray Sr., raising their five children and a bonus baby. She received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 16. She was as a former member of Timothy Farm’s Memorial Church of God in Christ in Preston, MD. Mother and Elder Murray transitioned as faithful dedicated members for many years at Tabernacle of Prayer Church in Salisbury, MD. Sharon served as a dedicated Mother in the Church for ten years at Visions of Mercy Outreach Missions Inc. in Salisbury, MD. Mother Murray was a faithful, loving, and giving servant for the Lord. Glorifying Him every chance she had up until her last days. She was a true ambassador for Christ telling everyone she met about her precious Lord and Savior.

Mother Sharon Murray was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-five years, Elder Herbert M. Murray Sr. one daughter, Sylvia Horsey, three sisters, Florence Lipscomb, Syliva Bryan, Susan Johnson, three brothers, Cayton Wicks Jr., Reginald Perkins, and Spencer Thomas.

Mother Sharon Murray leaves to cherish fond memories of life to her four children, Herbert (Debra) Murray Sr., Apostle Dr. Stephanie Wallace, Carsherrie Murray, and Antonio (Gail) Murray Sr., bonus son, Anthony Quailes, three sisters, Wysetta Warner, Mildred Browne, and Margaret Bush, two brothers, Archie Thomas Jr., and Louis Thomas, eight grandchildren, Apostle Terrance Murray, Evangelist Dr. Erica Murray, Monique Murray - Carter, Pastor Dr. Tonique Clark, Tony Clark Jr., Jahnille Verdis, Antonio Murray Jr., and Mauricea McNight, nine great grandchildren, Tai’Jheir Tidmore, Ayesha Brown, Stephon (De’Siyur) Clark, Mah’Lik Brown, Alaya Carter, X’Avior Carter, Addison Murray, Ayden Murray, and Ashton Murray, two great-great grandchildren, Palece’ Clark, and I‘Lyn Clark, son-in-law, Russell Horsey, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Most of all her beloved spiritual sons and daughters of her church family “Visions of Mercy Outreach Missions Inc.”, as well as her extended family at the Bay Harbor Post Acute center, and a host of friends and everyone she has touched along the way.

Mother Sharon left a legacy that will carry on for generations to come.
