Shakenya Renaye Murray

Shakenya Renaye Murray transitioned and received her wings to the heavens on Monday October 26, 2020. She was born in Cambridge, Md to her parents; William Levi Murray and Doretha Peterson. Renaye, as most people knew her by, was born on November 22, 1976. She was 43yrs old.

Renaye graduated from North Dorchester High School in the class of 1994; from there she received her associate’s degree at Chesapeake College, Wye Mills. Moving on in her career, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland College Park. She was recently employed as a counselor & mentor at Cross Roads Community, Inc.

Renaye was a very smart and intelligent young lady. Although, she never gave birth to her own children, she loved kids to the fullest. Renaye was a very private person that always tried to look out after her family and closest love ones. She loved her Baltimore Ravens, and for a hobby she became to be an excellent coupon shopper.

Renaye leaves to mourn her passing, her father William Levi Murray (Leona) and her mother Doretha Peterson; a very special sister and best friend, LaWanda Murray, who was Renaye’s caregiver unconditionally until the very end. She had six brothers, Antonio Roberts, William Murray III, Jackie Macer, Rynell Jones, Brandon Carter, and Elijah Stull, seven additional sisters, Lois (Candy) Elder, Kimberly Murray, Stephanie Murray, Taransiha Mills, Lynisha Long, Mikesha Smith, and Amber Murray. One special niece that she cared and loved for as her own, Tamisha Perry. Special cousins Sherlaine Cornish, Elaine Pinkett, Tynika Hudson, Andre Barham, Sr. and Kevin Peterson, Sr. Renaye had a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She had three god-children, whom she adored; Kevon Peterson, Annika Neal, Zaniyah Sewell and a godmother Alyce Berdaux. Five special friends Towanda Jackson Tolliver, Christal Wilson, Charmaine Elliott, Amyia Johnson, Toni Peterson- Hadley and Wendy Macer and a host of other family and friends.
