Rodney Sampson Obituary

Rodney Sampson was born on January 25,1946 at Easton Hospital in Easton, MD to the late Ralph Sampson and Helen Pauls. He passed away on December 29, 2021 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. He was 75 years old.

 

Rodney received his education and graduated from Kennard High School in 1964.

 

Rodney loved his sports, his favorite teams were the Ravens, Orioles, and the Wizards. When he was a little boy, he loved going to baseball games and wrestling matches with his Dad. Rodney also had a collection of oldies but goodies music. Rodney loved riding his bike, which he was known for. He was also known as a great singer. He was gifted with a baritone voice. He enjoyed singing so much that he sang in chorus when he was in school.

 

Rodney was truly a family man. He was a great brother to his siblings. Rodney was married twice during his lifetime. He was married twelve years to Lillian Mathews and had three daughters. His second marriage was to Mary Smith for twenty years. They resided in Easton, MD.

 

Rodney was a hard working man and a people person. Everyone liked him.

       

Rodney leaves to mourn his wife Mary, his daughters; Annette Hopkins (Derrick) of Sudlersville, Maryland, Sheila Sampson of Stafford, VA and Crystal Sampson of Portsmouth, VA, his grandchildren; Ke'Andre, Derrick Jr., Ashleigh, Jazmyne, Rodjanek, and ShyAnne, great-grandchildren, Niya, Sinai, Nivea, Dakoyta, Elijah, Ricky, Zion and he had a great granddaughter that will make her arrival on April 13, 2022, siblings; Donald Green (Theresa), Colita Green (Donald), Rosalind Green, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Rodney was preceded in death by siblings; Diane Sampson, Reginald Green, Linda Green and James Green.

 

Rodney was well loved and he will be truly missed.

 

 

The Sampson family would like to thank everyone for their kind and comforting words and prayers during this time. We deeply appreciate each one of you.
