Pearl Jeanette (Bordley) Kennedy

Pearl Jeanette Kennedy went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.  She was 84 years old.  She was born on June 6, 1938, in Goldsboro, MD to the late Tinley and Mattie Pierce Bordley.

Pearl was educated in the Caroline County public school system; she was affectionately known as “Mom Pearl” or “Granny”.  On August 4, 1979, Mom Pearl was joined in holy matrimony to Perry Kennedy of Centerville, Maryland where they raised their family for over 50 years. 

Mom Pearl loved her children and grandchildren.  Her favorite hobbies were going to the Casino, shopping and cooking special dinners for her family, where they enjoyed her famous pies.  She was quiet, kind, and friendly and always willing to help others.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Curtis Bordley, brothers, Charles “Bubbie” Bordley and Jimmy Bordley; sisters, Faith Bordley, Carolyn Bordley, Patsy Baynard and Carlean Anderson.

Pearl leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of 50 years, Perry Kennedy, 4 daughters, Tampa Bordley, Centerville MD; Carolyn Henry, Ridgely MD and Vastina Fountain (Romaine), Harrington, DE, Carla Brown, Philadelphia, PA; 1 son, Bradford King (Arnola), Centerville, MD; 3 sisters, Ida Gibson (Gerald), Vivian Bordley (Clarence) and Judith Bordley, 2 brothers, Arnold ”Pinch” Bordley and Larry Bordley (Doretha); 11 grandchildren, Tanisha Haythorne,(Christopher), Towhee Sparrow, Jr., Tyneka Sparrow, Tashawna Crump, Lamontra Fountain, Meshera Fountain, Keiona Brown, Christopher Brown, Curtez Neely, Curtis Bordley Jr., and Kysheia Anderson, 19 great-grand children and 3 great-great grandchildren, 3 sisters in-law; Gloria Bordley (Ridgely, MD) Genevie Kennedy (Grasonville, MD), Gloria Kennedy (Pondtown, MD)and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special friend of the family, Ilene Ingder.
