Patsy Lee Holliday-Camper aka “Mommal” passed away peacefully on the morning of October 8, 2023. At the age of 76, Mommal was embraced by celestial grace, transitioning peacefully into eternal rest.
Born on August 15, 1947, in Easton, MD, Mommal was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Dorothy Holliday. Growing up in Talbot County, she received her education from the Talbot County Public School system.
In 1965, Mommal married the late Ernest J Potter, and they had two daughters from that union, Teila N Potter-Miller and Alisa M Potter-Washington. They divorced in 1990. In 1996, Mommal remarried to the late Donald W Camper.
Throughout her life, Mommal was employed at Bumble Bee Tuna and Cold Water Seafoods in Cambridge, MD. Mommal found her love and passion in caring for children in need of a home therefore she became a foster parent through the Dorchester County Department of Social Services.
A woman of many interests, Mommal found solace in the simple pleasures. She enjoyed watching YouTube on her tablet, talking on the telephone, reading her bible, fishing, cleaning her cars and waxing with the toothbrush, and spending lots of time with her children and grandchildren. Mommal also had a love for animals.
Mommal’s memory will be treasured by her children, Teila (James Jr) Potter-Miller from Trappe, MD, Alisa (Henry) Washington from Cambridge, MD, Tiene Holliday, Jermain Holliday, Raymond Holliday, Tyanthia Johnson, Donnessa (Leroy) Jackson and Denise Fletcher, all from Cambridge, MD, and Michelle (Deron) Roberson of Florida and a bonus son, Charles Amos of Florida.
Grandchildren, TaDrein (Zeta) Waters of Delaware, MyShekia Smith of Cambridge, MD, DaBari Smith of Trappe, MD, Olandas (Michelle) Waters Jr of Cambridge, MD, David Kiah Jr of Easton, MD, Paris Miller of Trappe, MD, DeAndre (Shanore) Wilson of North Carolina, Jarrell (Davone) Holliday and James Lee, both of Virginia, Lavonte (Dessa) Johnson of Cambridge, MD, Frederick Bishop Jr, Brittany Potter, Tav’rein Potter, James King, Dontre King, and Sheena Edmonds all of Cambridge, MD, and DeOnte Potter of Princess Anne, MD. A nephew whom she has raised, Marcus Holliday of Cambridge, MD, and special grandson, Nazir Johnson. Great-grandchildren, Malaya Waters, Braylen Potter, I’Rea Potter, and a host of other great-grandchildren. A sister, Faith Holliday of Federalsburg, MD, and a special friend, Regina Thompson of Cambridge, MD, her dog, Bengie, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mommal was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Camper, daughter, Angela Cooper, grand-daughter, DaQuonna Kiah, parents, Dorothy and Dorsey Holliday, her sisters, Carolyn Mackell, and Shirley Opher, her brothers, Dorsey Holliday, Michael Holliday, Bobby Smith, and Joseph Holliday.
