Nancy Ann Smith

Nancy Ann Smith nee Wengert, was born at home on September 21, 1945. to her late parents Melvin and Helen Wengert. She passed away at home in Ridgely with her loving family, on Friday, September 22, 2023. She was 78 years old. She proceeded in death by her husband, William L. Smith Jr, her parents Melvin and Helen Wengert, and dear sister, Dolores Chalfont. 

 Nancy grew up in Glen Burnie, MD on her fathers turkey farm. She and “Larry” married in 1962 and made a life together for 52 years until his death. She worked for a majority of her life with the Anne Arundel County school board until retiring to the Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, quilting, baking, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

She survived by her daughter Sandra Franklin (Larry), granddaughter Candice Bloom (Beau), her grandsons Andrew (Taylor), Hunter (Brittany), Justin (Caitlin), and Cory (Lorena). She had 11 great grandchildren, Alexia, Benjamin, Harper, Sadie, Rose, Marley, Joshua, Max, Ronin, Nova and Remy. 

Along with special daughter in Law, Deborah Gove and her husband Paul.

Mrs. Smith requested no services, as she was surrounded by the people she loved and that loved her at the end of her life.
