Mildred Mae Jones

Mildred Jones, daughter of the late William Jones and Claudia Primusa Jones was born on October 4, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina.  She departed this life on August 16, 2023, at Tidal Health Hospital in Seaford, Delaware.

Mildred was educated in Caroline County Public Schools.  Mildred was a warm, compassionate woman with a sense of humor and an infectious smile. She was a faithful member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church up until her health failed in 2020.  She always looked forward to going to church on Sundays.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Jones and Claudia Primusa Jones; two brothers – William Franklin Jones and Anthony Jones; and niece Kellie Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son – Vaughn Jones of Hurlock, MD; two daughters – Stephanie Johnson-Steger (Brian) of Federalsburg, MD and Penny Williams (Bradley) of Atlanta, GA; one brother – Bruce Jones of Baltimore, MD;  nine grandchildren – Rodney Johnson, Jr (Kelly) of Denton, MD; Brandon Johnson of Federalsburg, MD; Vaughn Jones, Jr (Shelly) of Hurlock, MD, Katisha Jones of Jessup, MD, Deandre Jones of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Antwine (AJ) Jones of Federalsburg, MD, Crystal Sneed (Corey) of Atlanta, GA, Jada Williams of Atlanta, GA and Seaborn Williams, Jr of Atlanta, GA; two nephews – Don Jones of Seaford, DE and Jermaine Butler (Kisha) of Salisbury, MD; one niece – Heather Jones (Maurice) of Easton, MD  and Rodney Johnson Sr. whom she treated as a son; fifteen great grandchildren and a host of cousins, friends and extended family.
