Melvin Douglas Lewis, 57, of Easton departed this life on January 23, 2023 at Compass Hospice in Centreville, MD. Melvin was the son of Melvin Douglas Roberts Sr. and Mary Ann Wilson.
Melvin received his education in the Talbot County public school system. He held various jobs throughout his life but his most memorable ones were working in construction and for Gay’s Seafood.
Melvin was very adventurous making his way to travel to Kentucky, New York, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia. He made these states his home for a period of time until he relocated back to Maryland where he would live out the rest of his days.
Melvin had a love for cooking. He would often cook large meals and take a plate to many people in the community. He also had a talent for drawing which he did often. Melvin will be remembered by many things that he use to say but one of his and his mothers favorite saying was “Okie Dokie”.
Melvin was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Roberts Sr. (Faith), grandparents; William Maurice Ayers and Eva Roberts, Robert and Rosie Lewis, brother, Kirk Douglas Earl, aunts, Linda, Deanna and Sandra Roberts, uncles, Rodney Roberts and Andrew Lewis, and closest friend, Johnny Foster.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving parents, Mary and Joseph Wilson, sister, Arkendra Lewis, brother, Devin Wilson (Nichole), aunts; Hope Copper, Teresa Roberts, Barbara Rich, Hilda Wilson (Burton), uncles; William Lewis and Gary Lewis, Marley Lewis (Diane), Melvin Lewis, great aunt, Teresa Deshields, nephews; Keanye Lewis, Devin Wilson Jr., Hayden Wilson, his beloved dog, Dusty and many cousins and friends.
