Maverick Turner Obituary

Maverick Bart Turner was born on March 22, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Charles H. Turner, and the late Marion Freeman Tolson.
He was the youngest of three brothers and three sisters. On December 14, 2024 the Lord decided to call him home to rest.

Maverick was a huge fan of westerns and National Geographic’s. He spent a good amount of time collecting and treasure hunting. He always found something that he said was “worth some money” and made sure his children and grandchildren were given some of those treasures. Maverick helped many people with their home projects, moving them from one location to another or with any project or handyman work they may have needed. He truly earned the name “MacGyver”.

Before his sudden passing, Maverick enjoyed traveling and would always pop up on his children and grandchildren with or without notice. They never knew when he would appear at times. He was dedicated to volunteering at the Elks in Easton, Maryland. Whenever the Elks had an engagement going on (Bart) was right there to keep things tidy. Maverick was an employee at Preston Roadhouse where he would tell his daughter how much he enjoyed his employment there.

Maverick leaves to cherish his loving memories to one daughter, Essence Grant (Chris), one son, Jarris Williams; one sister, Ernestin (Bunny) Turner; one brother, Charles (Dudley) Turner (Candy), eight grandchildren; Elana, Corey Jr., Josiah, Sterling, Serenity, Mikayla, Jace, and Amora, special nephew, Tony Warrick, special cousin, Shirley Ann Turner (Uncle Dickie), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Vivian (Nyoka) Hammond, Jacqueline “Jackie” Delores Warrick, Maurice (Louise) Turner and a special nephew, Terry Turner.

The family will host their own memorial service to celebrate Maverick Turner as indicated below.
