Mary E. Sidney “Neicy” was born February 27, 1955 to John Albert Smallwood Sr., and Maryneal Smallwood. Mary passed away on April 12, 2026 at home with family by her side. Mary attended Talbot County public schools. Mary had a heart of gold and would give any and everything she had, if possible.

During her earlier years she worked in healthcare, providing the best care and love to anyone who was lucky enough to have her as their assistant. Mary was an amazing chief as well, she also worked in the restaurant business preparing meals made with nothing but pure love. Mary attended Whole Counsel of God ministries where she loved to sing and give God praise. Mary also oversaw the Overcomers Ministry at Whole Counsel, and before her husband's illness was a Christian Education instructor there as well.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, John Albert Smallwood Sr., her brother, Kevin Smallwood, nephew; Vincent Smallwood Jr., uncle, Donnelly Brown, aunts, Flossie Jenkins, and Pauline Carroll.

Mary leaves to mourn her passing, her husband who she loved with all her heart, Fred Sidney of Cambridge, MD, mother, Maryneal Smallwood of Cambridge, MD, two bonus sons, Fred Sidney and Chris Sidney, brothers; John Smallwood Jr. (Barbara) of Henderson, MD, Albert Mills of Cambridge, MD, Curtis Smallwood of Minnesota, Vincent L. Smallwood Sr. (Faye) of Federalsburg, MD, aunts, Bernice Watkins (Linzy) of Philadelphia, PA, Arnita Adams of Cordova, MD, Blenda Abner of Hurlock, MD, uncle, James Brown (Ruth) of New Jersey, nieces; Michelle Woolford (Joseph) of Federalsburg, MD, Melissa Smallwood of Federalsburg, MD, Jessica Hunt of Delaware, Belinda Brown, nephews; Donnelly Smallwood, Grant Smallwood and a very special sister/friend, Angela Thomas, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
