Mary Elizabeth (Moon) Harris

Mary E. Harris, 78, of Easton, MD, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, following a courageous battle with dementia. Born on January 15, 1946, in Bayard, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Paul Z. and Hazel L. Frazier Moon.

Throughout her career, Mary served with the Talbot County Sheriff’s Department, Easton Memorial Hospital, and as a dedicated private caregiver. In her leisure time, she enjoyed crab feasts, horseback riding, engaging conversations with friends, cooking, entertaining, and spending time with her family by the pool. Mary was also passionate about volunteering at the annual holiday bazaar at Easton Church of God.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, David R. Moon and James A. Moon, sister, Dolores Allen, daughter-in-law, Ginny Elms, and stepdaughter, Shelly Harris.

Mary is survived by her husband, Gary L. Harris; son, Dwayne (Casper) Elms; daughter, Brittany Harrison and her husband Beau; stepchildren; Gary Lewis, Everett Harris (Rhonda), Karen Harris-Smith (Bruce), and Marieca Harris; as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The celebration of life will be held at Harrison’s Harbour Lights in St. Michaels, Maryland on Tuesday, October 29th from 4pm to 7pm.
