Mary Jean Conway, was born July 1, 1955 in Cruger, MS to Albert Lee and Sarah Louise Jackson who both proceeded her in death. She was the 1st child born from that union. She attended and graduated from Englewood High School in Chicago, Illinois 1973. Mary was united in holy matrimony to Eugene Conway Jr. July 19, 2002. She often referred to him as “Baby” and they shared a loving marriage until her death.
Mary was a dedicated federal government employee. She served as a USDA Inspector for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her most pleasurable pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and daily talks with her best friend Floretta Singleton.
Mary attended Kingdom Empowerment Christian Church, under the leadership of Pastors Mason and Kimberly McGill. She enjoyed singing on the praise and worship team ministry. Although her physical health declined, her faith in God never wavered. Even when was unable to attend services, she remained faithful and loyal to the online ministry. She continued to sing and praise God despite the health challenges she faced. Her humor, smile, and bright personality will truly be missed.
Mary was preceded in death by 7 siblings, Aaron Sargent, Albert Lee Jackson Jr. Carla Moore, Shirley Moore, Marilyn Parker, Kimberly Jackson, and Antonio Jackson. She is survived by nine siblings, Jimmy Lee Jackson, Desire Lewis, Waticia Jackson, Yolanda Jackson, Angie Moore, Debra Moore, Carl Moore, Ramona Moore, and Tawanna Moore.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Eugene Conway, her children Isaac Sargent (Mariah), Tasha Norman (Joseph), Lasonya Sargent, and Deonta Mcknight (Keri); Two stepchildren to whom she raised as her own: Lakesha Jackson and Crystal Travers (Preston); Seventeen Grandchildren Charles, Chiquita, Kwamane, Devodrick, Kwontavious, Dequante, Aarin, Devin, Destiny, Isaac Jr., Chi’naya, Adriana, Dieari, Deonta Jr., Ali, Kaden, and Kamrin. (Mary’s dying wish was to make mention of two special grandchildren who helped as caregivers during her final days: Kwamane Sargent and Chi’naya Mcknight), mother-in-law, Amanda Conway of Hurlock, MD, brothers-in-law; Jessie Blount of Salisbury, MD, James Conway (Ella) of Temple Hill, MD, Darrell Conway of Hurlock, MD, Carl Conway (Aretha) of Salisbury, MD, Jerome Conway of Baltimore, MD, Lawrence Conway of Cambridge, MD, Orville Conway of Trappe, MD, sisters-in-law; Rugenia Montgomery of Salisbury, MD, Rosetta Parker, Sabrina Conway (Lorenzo), Wanda Conway, Tamara Soyer (Kevin) of Hurlock, MD, Lenora Pritchett (Dominick) of Cambridge, MD, eleven great grandchildren. Mary also leaves to cherish a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a great number of friends.
