Martin Edward Jenkins, Jr. died on December 26, 2021 at the MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, MD.
Martin was the son of the late Martin Edward Jenkins, Sr. and Bernice V. Cornish Jenkins of Easton. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Morris and Gordon and niece, Jessica Englekes.
Martin graduated from Easton Sr. High School. He also attended Chesapeake and Howard County Community Colleges.
After working for B.T. Ginns, he went to work for Verizon, Best Buy and finally, Lowe’s (where he was admired by many). Martin was also instrumental in devising setting up and maintaining security surveillance systems for the Obama inauguration in Washington, DC.
Martin leaves loving and cherished memories to his sisters, Wadella C. Thomas of Easton, MD, and Marilyn T. Barton (Richard II) of Federalsburg, MD, aunts, Edith B. Hayman and daughters, Frances Black and son Michael, nephews, Kent Martin Chase (Susan) of South Carolina, Kurt M. Chase (Brenda) of Newbraska, Richard O. Barton III (Candie) of New Mexico and James Alexander of St. Michaels, MD, nieces, Kym M. Chase and son Kendrick Herbert of Easton, MD, Monica L. Townsend and daughter Glynna M. Hilliard of Easton, MD, Leah Tomas of Wilmington, DE, Jennifer Hemingway of Florida, Enid and Trea Miller of the western shore, great-grand nephew, Aaiden C. Copper-Pierce, who never ceased to amaze him and other cousins and relatives too numerous to name.
The family would like to thank and recognize the following who loved and cared for Martin; Arnita Staten (Jenkins), Patty Sciors, Jan and James Barayasarra, Jemma and Garnet Burgess, Warren Herbert, Gene Bemus, Abdellatif Louis Chafik, Vernon Lipscomb, Glen Bartley Norman Brant and Allen Jones, also the gang at Monie’s. You all were instrumental in his life.
