Martin Cannon Obituary

Martin Eugene Cannon, age 82, was born on May 16, 1934 in Seaford, DE to the late Vivia Moore and Calvin Coleman. He transitioned from this life on November 12, 2021 at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, DE after a long illness.

Martin was educated in the Seaford school district. At the age of 19, he enlisted in the United States Navy for three years. After being discharged from the military, he started his career and began driving truck at United Van Lines in Seaford, DE. He drove long distance carrying furniture and produce. He later bought his own truck to continue in that career. Martin drove truck for approximately 42 years.

Martin loved cooking. Meatloaf was one of his special dishes. He also loved hunting, watching westerns, NFL football, especially Washington (formerly called the Redskins). He also loved spending time with his girls and riding out with his special friend, Helen.

Martin was preceded in death by his brother, George Moore and sister, Rosemary Cannon.

Martin leaves to cherish fond memories, five daughters, Diane Bolden (Leon), Faye Cannon of Seaford, DE, Marcella Fletcher (Leon), Deneen Tomkins of Bear, DE, and Martina Cannon of Wilmington, DE, sister, Nadine Moore of Denver, CO, special aunt, Mary Bell, 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
