Margaret Howard Gertler Obituary

Margaret "Meg" Howard Gertler, 72, of Royal Oak, Maryland passed away on December 15, 2025 peacefully at home. She was born November 7, 1953 in Washington, D.C. to William and Rosemary Howard.


Meg graduated high school at Holy Child in Potomac, Maryland, college at University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science, and Towson State University with a Master of Education.


In 1978, Meg married Paul Gertler in Baltimore, Maryland. She taught school at Saint Ursula, then stayed home and raised her three children. She was an avid reader and helped organize a neighborhood book club for more than 20 years.


Meg is survived by her husband, Paul Gertler; three children, Sara Peacher, Lindsey Adamo, and David Gertler, as well as their spouses Joshua, John, and Rachel. In addition, she is survived by her six grandchildren, Winnie and Charlie Peacher, Leonardo and Sienna Adamo, and Jude and James Gertler.


She is also survived by her siblings; William Howard, Rosemary Bergeron, Trisha Lemmon, Catharine Gilchrist, Clifford Howard, Elizabeth King, Gregor Howard, and Kevin Howard. She is predeceased in death by her sister Suzanne Barnhouse.


A celebration of life will take place at the Tidewater Inn in Easton, Maryland by invitation only.
