Lydia Denise Cephas passed away on January 25, 2024 at The Pines in Easton, MD. Nicey as she was called by many was born on June 27, 1960 to Mary Elizabeth Lake-Pinkett and the late Joseph Louis Cephas Sr. She received her education in the Dorchester County school system. Nicey had several jobs working in health care for Maryland and Delaware. She was the type of person that would lend a hand to anyone in need of help. Nicey was a member of the Restoration Church of God of Prophecy in Federalsburg, MD under the leadership of Overseer Wanda Lake. She would always say “God got me, I’m not worried”.
Nicey leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Mary Lake-Pinkett, her sons Freddie (Shonta) Cephas, Tyree (Heather) Cephas, Joe (Christa) Cephas and Eric Flynn, 19 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, sisters; Teresa (George) Batson, Odessa Green, Margaret Cephas Lake, Ethel Cephas, brother, Odonna Cephas, uncles, Vernon Cephas and Milton (Gloria) Jones, special cousins; Tyrone Harris, Tameka Harris, and Mykeria Sruggs of Baltimore, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family. Nicey loved her family and friends.
Nicey was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Cephas Sr., brother, Joseph Cephas Jr., grandparents, nieces, Rolinda Jackson and Dorcell Cephas, aunts; Peggy Harris, Estella Manokey, and Margaret Lawson, uncles; Percy Lake, Charles Maynard Cephas, Emerson Conaway, and Walter Jones and a special brother-in-law, Bruce Green.
