Obituary Lucille Downes Brown was also known as “Mickey” to family and friends.
She was born to the late Rufus Downs and Dothoy Chambers in Hillsboro, Maryland, on May 28, 1947. She departed this life at home in Denton, Maryland, on April 30, 2024, surrounded by her family and friends.
Mickey grew up in Hillsboro, Maryland, and went to Lockerman High School. She was once employed at Thermalink in Denton, Maryland, and Black and Decker in Easton, Maryland.
Mickey loved her family and friends, and her family loved her. She would do anything she could to help family and friends. She was a member of King Apostle Holiness Church of Denton, Maryland.
Mickey leaves to mourn: two sons, Joseph Downes of Denton, MD, and Tracy Downes (Cathy) of Federalsburg, MD; one sister, Rosetta Downes of Denton, MD; three brothers, Ernest Downes (Faye) of Denton, MD, Rufus Downes of Dover, DE, and Charles Chambers of Dover, DE; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.
Mickey was preceded in death by one son, Michail McShane; husband, Randolph Brown; three sisters, Ella Huffins, Mary McShane, and Elenor Chambers; five brothers, James Chambers, Lester Chambers, Sr., Harold Chambers, Donald Downes (Hully), and Vernon (DeeDee) Downes.
