Lillian Sampson was born on December 14,1945 in Selbyville, Delaware to the late Bruce Fitchett and Mary Fitchett. She passed away on February 26, 2025.
Lillian received her education in Northampton County. She graduated from Northampton County High School in 1965. She loved having fun, watching game shows, dancing, and making people laugh. Lillian was married to Rodney Sampson and in this union, they had three daughters. Lillian was a hard worker. She worked as a caregiver for the disabled and elderly. She was also employed at a daycare center as a childcare provider.
In her later years, she had numerous health issues, but she still continued to make people laugh and would do anything to help anyone in need if she could. Lillian will always be remembered as a talkative, friendly, fun loving, and caring person.
Lillian leaves to mourn her daughters Annette Hopkins of Sudlersville, MD, Sheila Sampson of Stafford, VA, and Crystal Sampson of Norfolk,VA and son-in-Law Derrick Hopkins. Her grandchildren; KeAndrea Sampson, Derrick Hopkins Jr., Ashleigh Nottingham, Jazmyne Hopkins, Rodjanek Harmon, and Shyanne Sampson. Great-grandchildren, Yaniyha Moore, Sinai Sampson, Nivea Hopkins, Dakoyta Hopkins, Elijah Davis, Ricky (RJ) Nottingham, Zion Nottingham, Karliee Valentine, and Fortune Valentine. Nieces Ashley Claiborne, Robin Mathews, Ensa Mathews and great niece Evyn. Nephews Kenneth Bailey and Eric Cottrell. She had a sister Lola Ford, and a brother Charles Mathews who preceded her in death. She had a sister in-law Anne Mathews. Lillian had a nurse Quinesha Froehilich, who she adored. She took great care of her while staying in the nursing home, she called her the fourth daughter. Lillian had a host of cousins and friends. She was loved by all and will be truly missed.
