Leo Edward Dixon, age 71, transitioned from this life on February 11, 2025 in Milford, Delaware, after a brief illness. Leo was born May 15, 1953 in Wyoming, Delaware to the late George Edward Dixon and Emily Christina Greenage Dixon.
Raised in Viola, Delaware, Leo graduated from Lake Forest High School and then went on to attend technical school in Mercer County, New Jersey for automotive repair. Leo used his education to build a career repairing cars, eventually retiring from the Maryland State Police Department, where he ensured that the police vehicles remained in great working condition.
Leo was a Renaissance man, with varied and diverse interests. From photography to drawing, computers to politics, he was conversant and knowledgeable about a wide array of topics. He was critical in setting up how the Maryland State Police Department electronically catalogued its mechanical inventory. Prior to losing his eyesight, Leo was an avid and competitive trap shooter and bowler.
In addition to his parents, Leo is predeceased in death by his loving and devoted wife Clara Potts Dixon, his brothers David Minus, Rev. Dr. Samuel Dixon, a sister Sharon Stevenson, and two beloved sisters-in-law Gloria Jean Austin and Lillian Potts Minus. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his daughter, Lisa Cunningham (Noble); his big brother, protector and best friend, Fredric Minus; brother George Stevenson; sister Beverly Stevenson; sisters-in-law Melanie Boston (Allen) and Rev. Judy Dixon; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
