Lavar MarSean Johnson, Sr. transitioned to eternal life unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the age of 36. He was born on May 1, 1986, to Annette F Brummell and Larry A Johnson, Sr.
Lavar was educated in Talbot County Public Schools. Throughout his life he was a very outspoken individual. Those that knew him well knew that being “outspoken” meant he liked to talk a lot of stuff and always wanted the last word. What he said was how it was supposed to be. From a young age, his lifelong dream was to become a truck driver like his Pop-Pop Pete. Unfortunately, after being diagnosed with diabetes, his desire to pursue that dream diminished. LaVar was a member of the Sons of the American Legion SQD 87.
Lavar was blessed with two sons, who all know as Sean and Za and a bonus daughter, Areonya. These children held a big part of his heart. Although his illness and stubbornness prevented him from spending the quality time with them he may have wanted, his love for them did not change.
Lavar is survived by his parents, Annette Brummell (Easton) and Larry Johnson, Sr. (Queenstown); his children, Lavar MarSean Johnson, Jr. and Za’Din William Johnson (Denton), Areonya S Parker (bonus daughter -Trappe); siblings, Lavonne Palmer (Easton), Larry Johnson, Jr (Greensboro), Jackie Johnson (Cambridge), Dinickia Brummell (Denton), and Lamar Johnson (Denton); maternal grandmother, Jeannette Brummell (Federalsburg); godmother, Shirley Ellis; two god sisters, Valerie Ellis, Nahmajha Harris and one god brother, Anthony Ellis; special friends, Shyedia Macer and Javonda Turner; Courtland Brummell – his uncle who was like a big brother; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.
Lavar was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William “Pete” Thomas and paternal grandparents, Melvin and Eva Johnson.
