LaToya Bolden Obituary

On August 26, 1983, LaToya Dawnette Bolden, was born to Debra L. Bolden and Kenneth W. Harris Jr. on September 10, 2025. “Toy” took her final rest at home.

LaToya was known as Mom-Rem by her mother and as “Wheezie” by other family and friends. Everyone that knew “Toy” knew that she was genuine, loving, and full of laughter. You just never knew what she was about to say. Whether riding her bike or walking in town, she would wave at everyone that passed or literally yell your name. There was NEVER a dull moment around her.

She received her education at Colonel Richardson High School. She worked at McDonalds, B & G, and Amick and she was definitely the family babysitter. Wheezie had a great love for basketball and for dogs. Cooking for her mom was what she loved most, especially pancakes. She was well known in her neighborhood as the “handy-man”, helping everyone that needed her, whether fixing TV’s or mowing lawn.

LaToya was preceded in death by her grandparents: Kenneth Harris Sr., Arlena Hamilton, Calvin Cephas, Odessa & Rosevelt Chester, and aunt Annette Boyce.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her parents, Kenneth Harris Jr. and Debbie Bolden, sister, Sharnice Harris, brothers, Omarr and Derrick Sturgis, special sister/cousin, Capri Lee, aunts; Odetta Bolden, Lisa Bolden, Gretha Sutton (Thomas) of New Jersey, Wanda Murray-Knight (Michael), Kalinda Polk-Dickerson (Pastor B. Dickerson), Florence Harris, and Dazarie Shabazz, uncles; Milton Bolden (Denise), Calvin Bolden, Keith Harris, Kennan Harris, and Alex Wilcox. Toy was blessed with four awesome nephews that she loved dearly, Braelyn Chase, Bryten Harris, Jathin Barney, and O’meir Sturgis, special friends; Ms. Margaret Lake (best friend Toy called her), Stephanie Randall, Kera Sampson, Angie Kane/Junior and Kevin Warner.

She was loved and will be forever remembered by an abundance of cousins and friends.

This is not good-bye, but I’ll see you later!
