Kenneth Watkins, II Obituary

Kenneth “Kenny” Watkins II was born on July 7, 1998, and tragically departed this life on November 19, 2022, in Cordova, Maryland at the age of twenty-four. Kenny was an extra-ordinary, larger-than-life sweet soul who left a lasting impression on everyone he met! His smile was contagious, inspiring, and genuine. His sense of humor was on point! As he matured, you may have received a gentleman’s handshake. If he LOVED YOU, you got a BEAR HUG! Although Kenny was born in Newark, Delaware, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland then settled at his family home in Cordova, Maryland all by the tender age of eight! Kenny attended elementary schools in both Baltimore and Talbot Counties and loved math (most of the time). Woven throughout his youth and young adult life, was his FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ! He was a member of The New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore Maryland where he was not only baptized at a young age but continued attending their Discipleship program until the age of seventeen. Kenny’s love of the Lord and sports led him to becoming a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He loved to watch and play sports! From lacrosse to basketball or even soccer. For the most part, he lived FOOTBAL! You could often find him yelling at the television as if they could somehow benefit from his sideline commentary! While in high school, he furthered his passion for playing football and became a member of the one and only Easton Warrior family!! The organization and the community at large fed his internal need for “connection”. He was proud to stand or shall we say squat with his fellow lineman: John Kerns, Drew Griffith, Corey Dyott, Jordan Eutsey and “Jo-Jo” Marasco. They were affectionately known as “The Moving Company”! Kenny graduated from Easton High school in 2016. He attended Chesapeake College for a bit, worked a “few” jobs including YMCA Camp counselor, Papa Johns delivery driver, retail sales at Polo and Nike, security guard at Acme, car salesman at Preston Nissan and Koons Toyota, big rig driver with Schneider and the latest - Giant foods!! Ultimately, his heart was committed to creating a family trucking company, Team Legacy Transport and even convinced his mom to “get with the program”! Kenny loved to cook and never fell short of bragging on his creations. Most notably were his tuna salad, mac-n-cheese, and Thanksgiving turkey. In addition, Kenny loved the beach, listening to a variety of music and loudly critiquing movies at home or in the theaters! Family (including extended) was EVERYTHING to Kenny. His heart was tender toward others until you showed him otherwise. Even then, forgiveness was easy! Very much a part of his family was his treasured German shepherd, “Dutchess”. They shared a bond like none other. Kenny leaves to cherish fond memories: his devoted mother Pamela Limberry (Antwon); his siblings: Terron Lovett and Amir Watkins; maternal grandparents, John “Bobby” and Juanita Blake; Aunts: Michele Haynes, Carolyn Chang(Emile), “Phine” Watkins(“Papa”), Marcia Catlett, Constance Haskins; Uncles: Anthony Lovett, Kenny Johnson (Doris), Robert Watkins (Ellen), and Joseph Watkins; faithful Auntie/Godmother: JoAnne Brice; a plethora of cousins, and special friends, especially Christopher Guy, Tyquan Beckett, and Tajmiere “TJ” Nixon. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Watkins Sr., his paternal grandparents Thelmo and Isophine Watkins, his maternal grandfather, Edward Haynes and his “extra special” great-great aunt, Beatrice Dean Cain.
