Life of A Soldier That Touched Many Lives
Kenneth E. Dawson Jr. was born on January 24, 1960. He passed away February 15, 2025, at age 65 at University of Maryland after fighting a long illness of cancer. He enjoyed his life to the fullest.
Kenneth attended Easton High School and became a male clothing model for Madeline Hair Salon located in Easton MD. He worked as a houseman for St. Michaels Harbour Inn, Marina & Spa in St. Michaels, MD for several years.
Kenneth then moved to Providence Rhode Island with his Aunt Betty, where he furthered his education and became a CNA, working at the Banister Rehabilitation Center of Providence, RI. He then became a R. I. security officer at Rockwood Liquor Providence R.I. He came back to Maryland and worked at Dollar Tree in Easton as a cashier and stocker. During this time, he touched so many lives.
Kenneth would say “customers come in Dollar Tree adults and kids dropping things on the floor and leave it”. He would ask “can you pick that up since you dropped it.” Afterwards he would say “there is no maid around here.” He liked things nice and neat. Even for himself, everything had to match and be in place or he wasn’t satisfied. His niece would say “Aw Aw Uncle Weasel” or someone would say “Ken Dog where you think you’re going?” He also worked at Ruby Tuesday, prepping salads and Denny’s as a dishwasher.
Kenneth gave his life to The Lord and became a member of the Union Bethel AME Church of Denton MD, where he sang on the choir.
Kenneth had a green thumb for growing the most beautiful plants. Just like the way you would grow to love him. He will love you no matter what. He loved to be around family and friends, and didn’t mind getting up to make a move, whether it was in church or not.
Kenneth always said, “Don’t worry about me, God Got Me”. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Dawson Sr., mother, Evelyn V. Perkins Dawson, brothers, Ronald A. Dawson, Larry D. Dawson, sister, Barbara J. Dawson, nephews, Hyseine H. Carter, Larry D. Fountain.
Kenneth leaves to mourn siblings, Glenda Dawson (George) of Hurlock, MD, Wayne Perkins of Easton, MD, aunt, Sara Lake of Cambridge, MD, special niece, Monishia Jenkins Johnson, that kept Kenneth’s hair done and looking nice. They all played a special part in his life, special nephew, Deondre Williams who was there until the end. He would say “I got you Unk”, nieces, Tysha Dawson of Delaware, Tami Jenkins, Kolia Fitchett of Cambridge MD, Que Dawson of Hurlock MD, Shelley Hardy of Severn MD, Kearston Hardy, Toni Hardy, Trina Hardy, Sharon Hardy and Lousia Hardy of Tampa FL, nephews, Jerry Carter, William Dawson of Easton MD, Dewine Johnson of Delaware, Demeka Dawson of PA, LaMarkas Johnson of Denton MD, Marcus Dawson of Ridgely, Robert Burns of Cambridge MD, Anthony Hardy of FL, great nephews, Kori, Tyron, great nieces, Remi, Nyla and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
