KaShyia Renee James

Kashyia Renee James, affectionately known as Shyia, age 40, was born in Meridian, Mississippi, on June 17, 1985, to Renee Savannah James and Terry Michael Lee. On November 6, 2025, at approximately 4:42 a.m., she departed this life at Easton Memorial Hospital. Kashyia, being a military child, lived in many places such as Mississippi, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland. Kashyia attended and graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School in the year 2007.

Kashyia worked various jobs such as Chester Wye, Safeway, and St. Benedictine’s Parish. Kashyia’s duties included housekeeping, vending services, and courtesy clerk. Kashyia loved the artist Mary J. Blige, as well as singing and dancing. She also enjoyed cooking and watching cooking shows and loved being around her family. Kashyia especially loved spending time with her mom. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and wonderful friend to all.

Kashyia was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Sherley James and Harry Lloyd Sellers, a bonus grandmother, Ella Sellers, and a host of aunts and uncles. She leaves to cherish her memories with her mother, Renee James, her brother, Arnold Bailey, Jr. (Tawyna) of Richmond, Virginia, two nephews, Arnold Bailey, III and Rocky Bailey, both of Richmond, Virginia, bonus sister, Kawana Gray of Church Hill, Maryland, Uncle Harold James (Zelda) of Chestertown, Maryland, Great-Uncle Hilton James of Ridgley, Maryland, and Great-Aunt Barbara Smallwood (John) of Henderson, Maryland, Great-Aunt Marina James of Church Hill, Maryland, Great Aunt Carmen James of  Felton, Delaware, bonus dad, Kevin Gray, bonus grandparents, Frederick and Ruth Ryans, both of Burrisville, Maryland, two godmothers, Cheryl Spain of Waldorf, Maryland and DeWauna Tyler of Newport News, Virginia, and a host of bonus aunts, uncles, and cousins.
