John Mosley III of Wye Mills passed away at home on May 29, 2021. He was the son of the late John Mosley, Jr and Jean Dwyer Mosley.
John was married to Ursula Schiwy for 52 years. They had two children John and Susan. He was born in Chestertown, Md on March 23, 1947. He grew up in Queenstown, Md, and graduated from Centreville High School in 1965. He served in the US Army and attended Anne Arundel police academy. He served as a policeman and detective for 17 years in Anne Arundel county. He also would pick up prisoners as a bounty hunter. Later he formed Mosley Family Home Repair, and was still active in his business until his death.
John enjoyed woodworking, flea markets, traveling, collecting antiques, and his family. He brought joy and laughter to many people with his story telling. He was a member of the American Legion and the Lions Club.
John was survived by his daughter Susan Mosley Covington (Kelvin) of Fork Union, Va., four grand children; Christopher Covington (Katlin) of Powhatan, Va, Mason Covington (Caitlin) of Palmyra, Va, Emily Mosley and John Harris Mosley of Easton, Md., two great grandsons; Beckham Sawyer Covington and Christian Mark Lanning III, sister, Lynn M Lewis (Ronald) of Easton, MD and many loving n-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Ursula Schiwy Mosley, his son, John Gunther Mosley, and his in-laws, Gunther and Regina Schiwy.
