Joanne Patrice Hanna

On Wednesday, October 16 2024 Joanne Patrice Hanna, age 70, was called to the kingdom of Heaven.  Born Joanne Patrice Arthur on August 14, 1954 near White Plains NY.  The daughter of Edith and Jack Arthur, Joanne, a 1972 graduate of Ramapo High School, went on to marry William Stanley Hanna III on November 18, 1978 in Bel Air, MD.  They were married for 45 years and were looking forward to their 46^th anniversary in November.  Joanne and Bill had two children, Erik and Theresa Hanna.  Joanne is proceeded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband Bill, children Erik and Theresa, older brother Dean Arthur (with wife Jodi) and younger brother Jay Arthur (with wife Pam).   Joanne had a niece and several nephews. 

In life, Joanne was a homemaker dedicating much of her time caring for her daughter Theresa, who has special needs that required additional attention.  She also supported Erik through his various activities as he was growing up.  In her free time she enjoyed reading, working on craft projects and vacationing with Bill at Colonial Williamsburg.  Throughout her life she remained committed to her faith, family, and friends. 

The family would like to thank their friends and the community for their support, prayers, and well wishes.  It has meant more than they will ever know.  A memorial service will be held on November 9, 2024 at Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg, MD.  Visitation starts at 1:00 pm followed by the service at 2:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family askes donations be made to Joanne’s church, Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg, MD or to the American Red Cross to help with hurricane recovery efforts.
