Jane Greene Obituary

Jane Elnora Greene, affectionately known as “Jane,” “Miss Jane,” “Grand mom Jane,” and
“Aunt Nana Jane,” of Federalsburg, Maryland passed away peacefully on May 28, 2020 at home
surrounded by loved ones. She was 79 years old.

Jane was born on November 11, 1940 in Preston, Maryland to the late William Richard Greene,
Sr. and Gladys Marie Butler-Greene. She received her education through the Caroline County
Public School system.

Throughout her life, Jane worked many jobs in various fields. In her spare time, Jane enjoyed
playing BINGO, eating crabs, cracking jokes, and talking on the phone with her sisters, children,
and grandchildren. She also was always there helping her family out.

Jane was preceded in death by her only son, D. Lamont Greene, her parents, William Sr. and
Gladys (Butler) Greene, three sisters Juanita B. Crowe, Jacqueline Greene, and Jeanetta Greene-
Lake, one brother Sherman Chase, Sr., and a great-grandson Elijah Magee.

Jane leaves to celebrate and cherish her very precious legacy, her most favorite people in the
world: two children, Dianna Greene-Bailey and Deborah Greene; three sisters, Jean Hubbard
(James), Janet Dotson (Roscoe), and June Bailey; two brothers William Jr. Greene (Janie) and
James Greene (Shirley); six grandchildren, Angel Greene, Angela Greene (Tyrone), Natasha
Greene, Donneshia Benson, Kia Greene, and Tyrone Cooper Simpson; eleven great-
grandchildren, Dianna Greene, Emmanuel Woolbright Greene, Amaya Greene, Ja’Chaun Wilson
Greene, N’Khai Warner, NaSir Warner, Tyla Dickerson, Ja’Zir Dickerson, Justin Austin, Jr.,
Destiny Woolbright, and Della Magee; a special niece, Sharon Dobson; three special nephews,
William Lake, Stanley Lake, and Ralph Dotson; two uncles, Kenneth Butler and Martin Butler,
and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

as well as practice social distancing, when possible*
