James Jenkins Obituary

James Allen Jenkins departed this life on October 19, 2024 at the age of 90 at home with his family. He was one of 12 children born, on April 25, 1934, to the late Kenneth Jenkins Sr. and Hattie Moaney Jenkins born in Easton, Maryland. 

He attended Longwoods School in Talbot County and at the age of 16 joined the United States Air Force where he served active duty for 26 years and retired with an honorable discharge in 1972.  He was employed for a brief period of time at The Tidewater Inn.  Then was employed by the Easton Memorial Hospital for the next 25 years until he permanently retired.  He was a man of strong family values, a loving husband and father who believed in the Lord and always believed there was room for one more at the table.  He loved cooking, playing the lottery, smoking cigars/pipes. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens and enjoyed watching their games. He also enjoyed watching reruns of Sanford and Son, any cowboy movies and The Family Feud.

He was preceded in death by Jessie Jenkins, wife of 53 years; siblings: Ella Mae Wells, Kenneth Jenkins, Estelle Jenkins, William Jenkins, Margaret Watkins, Willnettie Gibson, Raymond Jenkins, Richard Jenkins, granddaughter Tyra “Muffy” Wilmer and great granddaughter, Margaret Morgan.  

He leaves to cherish fond memories, his children: Mary Morgan of Ohio, Pamela Hermes of Hawaii, Meade Morgan Jr, Jamie Jenkins, Heidi Jenkins, M. Andrea Jenkins and Hugh Jenkins of Maryland; his brother Franklin Jenkins (Hazel) and sisters Gladys Ann Williams and Dorothy Jenkins of Maryland, Grandchildren: James Morgan and Heather McCary (Wyman)  of Ohio, Meade Morgan, III, Devwon Jenkins (Angel), Brandon Jenkins, R. Jarrell Morgan, Jessica Morgan, Jesse Morgan, Morgan Jenkins, Jordan Jenkins of Maryland, Honorary grandchildren: Michael Walker and Calvin Rookard; Great-grandchildren: Tavion, Miriam, Michaela (Derrick), Jas, Mayra, Anna Marie, Mia, Wesley, Makhyla, Jayden, Brandon Jr., Riley, A’Branda, Carnez, Isaac, Cullen, Tyriq, Arya, Bernadette, Kya, and Jemma.  Honorary Great-Grandchildren: Dregar, Daniel, Christian, and Asher, Great, Great-Granddaughter Sayori; special nieces: Virginia Burford, Delores Jenkins and Ruth Roberts, a special nephew John Walker (Linda) of Quebec, Canada and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
