James Conway, Jr. Obituary

It’s so hard to say goodbye to our dearly beloved James Darnell Conway, Jr affectionately known as “Droopy” who was born on June 8, 1980, to James Darnell Conway, Sr. and Bernadine Mouring. On March 17, 2024, James departed this life at the University of Maryland in Cambridge, Md and drifted into his eternal rest.

James received his formal education through the Dorchester County Public School System and a few years post his original graduation year he obtained his diploma. During his younger years James was a member of two choirs with the first being The Sunshine Band and last The Gospel Originals Choir, where he could be seen right in the front singing his heart out alongside of DJ, Reggie and Sterling.

Over the years James was employed by various places of employment with many years spent at H&M Bay in Federalsburg, Md. Following that job James went into business for himself where he was owner/operator of Jim Boi Cleaning Services, LLC and his last place of employment was at the Mushroom Plant in Cambridge, Md.

To know James was to love James. He was very outgoing, Loud…. Oh yes! “Loud” you knew he was in the room! Also, he was extremely friendly and would do anything he could to help anyone even if that meant given his last. Make no mistake about it, James loved pressing people buttons both family/friends and once he’s got your emotions high, he would laugh and quickly diffuse the situation by saying something to the effect of “You alright with me” and follow up with an I Love you and go on about his business as if nothing ever happened. James was a natural comedian, anyone who encountered him know it’s guaranteed that you would leave with a good laugh or at least a smile on your face.  James really enjoyed dancing, no doubt he’s going to be the life of the party wherever he goes. Also, he loved his family and friends and often spent time with them and loved them all genuinely. James had a passion for helping and encouraging children, he was known as the neighborhood “Uncle” and “Pop Pop.” He also loved to ride in his Cadillac with his sidekick uncle Fred aka “Driver” they made their rounds. They are the only two people that can ride and visit 200 people in one day cutting up every step of the way.  In his pass time you could find him watching wrestling, fishing, debating anyone that had time, exercising, and fixing and rebuilding cars with his father. One thing that many new is that James loved God, it didn’t matter what he was doing or how he was living he always referenced God. Anytime he attended church James was going to praise God, unashamed and with a sincere heart.

James leaves fond memories of his life to cherish to his precious daughter Ja’Kyra Jackson of Cambridge, Md. Parents Bernadine Mouring of Cambridge, Md. James Conway, Sr (Theresa) of Hurlock Md.
