Howard William Mills, born on July 5, 1951, in Easton, Maryland, departed this life on December 29, 2024, at the age of 73. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle whose life was filled with adventure, determination, and love for his family.
Howard attended Moton High School, where he was a star varsity football player, earning admiration for his talent, dedication, and teamwork. Following graduation, he pursued a career in hospitality as a waiter, where his warm personality and impeccable service left a lasting impression on many.
Howard also served in the United States Merchant Marines, a role that fueled his deep love of travel and allowed him to explore many parts of the world. His journeys were a testament to his adventurous spirit and curiosity about life beyond the familiar.
After experiencing a medical condition, Howard returned to Maryland, where he remained close to his roots and cherished the company of his family.
Howard was preceded in death by his father, Howard Mills.
Howard leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Dolores King, of Trappe, Maryland, two sisters, Shirley Mills and Carol Mills of Easton, Maryland, and two brothers, Robert Mills of Easton, Maryland, and Bruce Mills of Baltimore, Maryland. Howard's legacy extends to his beloved niece, Jennifer Ledbetter, and her husband, John Ledbetter, along with their three daughters, his cherished great-nieces: Julie, Jackie, and Jade Ledbetter.
Howard's life was a testament to resilience, love for family, and a spirit of adventure. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
