Harriette Virginia Williams Clayton, 84 of “Stumptown - Williamsburg” outside of Easton, Maryland was called into eternal rest on Saturday, May 24, 2025 in Port Tobacco, Maryland while staying with her daughter, Lesa G. Williams-Richardson when she returned from GreenAcres Nursing facility where she was recovering from being a patient.

Harriette was born on July 2, 1940, to the late Issac Franklin Williams, Sr. and Hazel Virgina Johns Williams in (Stumptown-Williamsburg).  Harriette received her education at a younger age at Williamsburg School and then transferred to Moton High School in the town of Easton which was the first black public school in Easton for African Americans students.

In 1957, Harriette had a daughter named Lesa Germaine Williams whose father is now deceased, Frank Holland of Hurlock, Maryland.  Throughout the beginning of becoming an adult, she worked for many years at factories in Talbot County as well as being a homemaker and taking care in monitoring older families during their health conditions.  Harriett was a dedicated walker from one end of town in Easton to the other.

Harriette enjoyed being with family. She was extremely close with her brothers and sisters as well as her favorite aunt Nannie Webb and her son Cousin Edward Webb.

She believed that all things were possible through Christ Our Lord who strengthen her in taking care of all senior relatives in the family.  She shared many memories.

In December 2007, Harriette and siblings, Howard, and Marcella flew to California to spend time with their brother, Issac Franklin Williams, Jr. to celebrate his 70th birthday, and they enjoyed their time with family on the West Coast.

Harriette was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Clayton, parents, Issac Franklin Williams, Sr. and Hazel Johns Williams; sisters, Rossetta Smith (Willie Lee Smith, Sr.); Marcella Thomas (Edward Thomas, Sr.); Martha McRae (Earnest Charles McRae); brother, Howard GW Williams, Sr. (Alethia Moaney Williams), son-in-law, Theodore Richardson, nieces and nephews; Barbara Lee Smith, Ray Anthony Smith, Matthew Wayne Smith, Glenn Williams, Craig Williams, and Rosetta Beatrice Williams.
