Grace Westcarr Obituary

Grace Z. Westcarr, 65, of Federalsburg, MD, transitioned peacefully on September 18, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 1, 1959, in Orlando, FL, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Swift and Lorine Thomas-Chestnut.

Grace graduated from Colonel Richardson High School before moving back to Kissimmee, FL where she worked at Walt Disney World. Grace married Clive Westcarr while in Kissimmee. In her later years, she found joy in her work as a cook at the Hyatt Regency, a true passion that reflected her love for nurturing those around her. A dedicated member of her church, Word of Life, Grace cherished her faith and relationship with God.

A beloved daughter, sister, aunt/great-aunt, cousin and friend, Grace used her love for hosting as a mission for bringing her loved one's together. Grace's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends, where she shared her love through cooking, laughter, and the warmth she brought to every gathering.

Grace was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Swift; mother, Lorine Chestnut; brother, Charles Chestnut and best friend, Rose Boe.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Bessie Davis of Federalsburg; brother-in-law, Richard Davis, brothers; Eugene Swift, Othellus Swift, and Earnest Swift Jr., all of Florida; aunt, Willie Mae Stokes of Capital Heights; nieces; Gwen Chestnut of Federalsburg and Jackie Volhard (Matt) of Wisconsin; nephew, Richard Chestnut (Shia) of Crisfield; a host of nieces and nephews, all of Florida; best friend, Fannie Patterson of Apopka; goddaughter, Sonia McNeal of Kissimmee, along with eight great nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
