Goolie Tyler Obituary

Goolie Elizabeth (Webb) Tyler was born on July 19, 1932, to the late William L. Webb and Gertrude Elizabeth Johnson of Harrington, Delaware.

Goolie was a originally from Harrington, Delaware and attended the Delaware public school system. She had many friend’s past and present that knew her by the name of Bumpsy. Goolie was married to the late Leo Harrison Tyler of Harrington, Delaware.

Goolie was a loving and caring person who loved the Lord with all her heart. In 1985, she joined New Hope Baptist Church, currently known as Greater New Hope Church and Ministries in Preston, Maryland. In her 35 years of attending she served as a pianist, sang on the Usher’s choir, and served in the Usher’s Ministry.

Goolie loved her family and she helped to care for us all. She never said a mean word and you could count on her greeting you with an infectious smile. She was always small in size, but she had a heart that surpassed any other. Although She was a person of few words; that was her strength. She loved us by showing us how to listen with patience, love by understanding and to pass no judgement on our mistakes. A gift that many people struggle with today.

Goolie enjoyed watching movies, her puzzle books, and eating candy and cookies; I do not think there was ever a cookie that she did not like.

Caring for her was a privilege and an honor. Special Thanks to Janet Daniels for all the Love and care she gave her and Harry Crapper for his daily phone calls of concern. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her grandchildren; Yolanda Henry (Edwin), James Tyler (Crystal), Charles Spencer Sr. (Victoria), Nakiah Dickerson (Dante) and Robert Dickerson, she had 14 great- grandchildren; Evan Henry, James Tyler Jr., Tamara Tyler, Tanisha Russell, Majiyah Henry, Spencer Tyler, Brianna Tyler, Kaleah Spencer, Charles Spencer Jr., Tatianna Tyler, Dante Naphier, Raquiece Dickerson, Jakier Barlow, Raquan Dickerson, sister-in-laws; Hazel Quarles, Pauline Williams-Tyler, Vicky Polk, Gerri Smith (John), Olivia Blackwell, Mary Tyler and Dorothy Tyler.

Goolie is proceeded in death by her husband, Leo Harrison Tyler, daughter, Shirley Ann Spencer-Neal, and son, Robert William Tyler.
