Glenn Drummond Obituary

Glenn Andre Drummond “Chief”, passed away on May 11, 2023. He was the oldest child, born on February 23, 1976 in Rocky Mount, NC, to Beverly Mechell.

Glenn attended Samuel Wolfson High School in the 90s before eventually relocating to the state of Delaware to rejoin his family.

Glenn loved to cook and often would create his own recipes in the kitchen. While he never had children of his own, his nieces and nephew meant everything to him. He enjoyed watching them grow and spending time with them. He also enjoyed spending time with his mother and would sip coffee with her while they had long talks. Glenn was large in stature but had a big heart - he was a gentle giant. He loved helping out others and would give his last to make sure those around him were okay. He was known to be a protector and would look out for anyone who needed his help. In fact, this is one of the reasons he was called “Chief.” He spent time volunteering at the Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington, DE. Glenn also loved sports and playing football. Growing up he was known as one of the best defensive players on the team.

Glen was preceded in death by his biological father, Glenn Squire, Sr.

Glen is survived by his loving mother, Beverly Mechell; father Russell Drummond; brother, Monty Drummond (Somechith), sister, Andrea Pettyjohn; nieces, Delilah Drummond, Abigail Pettyjohn and Malana Drummond and nephew, Patrick Pettyjohn Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
