Gladys Virginia Elliott

Gladys Virginia Elliott of Easton, Maryland departed this earth on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the age of 96.   She was born on December 24, 1926, to the late Clarence Spencer Pierce and Mary Parker Pierce.  Gladys was educated at Talbot County Public Schools and worked as a housekeeper until she retired.

Gladys loved serving the Lord.   In the late 1970’s, she joined the Asbury United Methodist Church in Easton, Maryland where she served as a Communion Steward.

Gladys was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 77.  She enjoyed watching Lifetime Movie Network and watching sports with her sons and grandsons.   Her legacy and memories will be forever honored by her devoted children and grandchildren.   

Gladys is survived by one sister, Stella Blake, three children; Earlene Kellum (Paul), Bernard Clayton, Sr. (Lawanda), and Marvin Pierce (Eugenia), five grandchildren; Tina Cooper, William Cooper, Shaun Clayton, Barnard Clayton, Jr., and Paul Kellum, Jr. (Deborah), four great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Henry Elliott, two sisters; Elsie Kellum and Edna Gardner, one brother, James Pierce, Sr., two children; Daisy Mae Gardner and Elwood Clayton Jr., one granddaughter, Margot Kellum, former husband, Elwood Clayton Sr. and a special family friend, Lucinda Tuddles.
